Burges Salmon welcomes back leading environmental and water law expert Simon Tilling as partner

Independent UK law firm Burges Salmon is pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Tilling as a partner in the firm’s Environment team, marking a significant boost to its market-leading environmental law and water sector offering.

Dual-qualified in England & Wales and in Scotland, Simon brings extensive experience advising on UK environment law including chemicals and product standards law, regulatory investigations, enforcement and criminal defence, regulatory appeals, tribunal hearings, judicial review and environmental civil claims. 

Simon also brings experience of the water sector from his time in-house with Pennon Group PLC and will bolster the environmental and regulatory offering of the market-leading water sector group at Burges Salmon.

Simon is also a director and trustee of the UK Environmental Law Association, an organisation and charity promoting knowledge and understanding of environmental law.

Simon’s appointment marks his return to Burges Salmon, where he trained and qualified in 2006 and became a partner in 2016. Commenting on his appointment, Simon says:
