About
Having trained at Burges Salmon and worked for a decade advising our pensions clients across the occupational pensions sector (both private and public, DB and DC). In 2022 she moved into a specialist Professional Support Lawyer position in the Pensions & Lifetime Savings team. With a keen interest in pensions policy, Louise keeps the team abreast of developments in the fast moving pensions industry and writes extensively on legal, regulatory and policy updates.
Experience
- Government consultations: Analysing and responding to Government consultations in respect of developments including the proposed changes to DB surplus provisions.
- Policy development: Key role in shaping the team’s response to policy developments, including the Mansion House reforms.
- Multi-employer hybrid scheme: Drafting new rules for a multi-employer hybrid scheme with a highly complex historical benefit structure, as part of a larger project to move from final salary benefits to accrual on a CARE basis.
- Pension advice: Providing advice on the implications of the amended statutory definition of money purchase benefits for a number of schemes with “non-standard” benefit structures.
- Corporate vehicles: Advising on the pensions aspects of setting up corporate vehicles to deliver public sector services and the related transfer of employees from their public sector employers.
