About

Rebecca Wilsker is a strategic, solution-oriented Corporate and M&A lawyer. Drawing on her many years of experience of working in the US and with US based organisations, Rebecca’s role at Burges Salmon is to provide practical assistance to US headquartered clients entering the UK market, UK clients entering the US market, and clients in both jurisdictions with ongoing business connections to the other. Rebecca works alongside Jeremy Dickerson, Rhian Wood and the International team, steering clients to Burges Salmon’s expert UK law advisors and where appropriate sourcing high-quality US legal advice and liaising with our US Preferred Firm Network.

Before relocating to the UK and joining Burges Salmon, Rebecca spent 15 years at leading US law firms, most recently as a Partner at Holland & Knight LLP, where she advised clients on cross-border M&A and other critical transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, equity financings, partnerships, and other life cycle events. Rebecca’s experience in the US further included advising clients on corporate governance matters, equity compensation, financings, and commercial transactions.

Rebecca was named in “Top 25 in ’25: Women in Technology Investing” by the Kayo Conference Series, has been listed in The Legal 500 USA, M&A/Corporate and Commercial – Private Equity Buyouts: Middle-Market (up to $500M), and has been named a “Rising Star” by her native Massachusetts Super Lawyers magazine annually since 2014.

Experience

  • Represented a Belgian provider of cloud-based compliance tools backed by UK private equity in a its acquisition of a US-based provider of EHS compliance solutions and other US corporate matters.
  • Advised a UK private equity backed franchisor of quick service restaurants on US matters and in multiple transactions involving acquisition of franchising rights and other assets in the US.
  • Represented a UK private equity fund on its acquisition of a US risk management platform in a carve-out from a US not-for-profit entity.
  • Represented a US private equity fund in a roll-up acquisition of multiple cybersecurity services and software companies.
  • Represented a PE-backed healthcare technology company in its sale to a private equity buyer.
  • Acted as US counsel to a UK private equity fund in its acquisition of an Ireland-based medical device manufacturer.
