About

Mel is Head of Learning & Development, responsible for shaping the firm’s learning strategy, capability development and workforce readiness agenda. She works with senior leaders to ensure people across the firm are equipped with the skills, confidence and behaviours needed to deliver excellent client service in a fast-changing legal and business environment.

Mel is an experienced people capability and skills transformation leader, with more than a decade of experience in enterprise learning strategy, leadership development, talent optimisation, digital capability building and skills-based transformation. Her expertise includes learning architecture, workforce capability strategy, leadership development, artificial intelligence-enabled learning, organisational change and the use of emerging workforce technology to close skills gaps and improve organisational agility.

Before joining the firm, Mel led large-scale learning and capability programmes across major organisations including Phoenix Group and Virgin Media O2, delivering award-winning, innovation-led solutions for complex, fast-moving businesses. She is also a recognised speaker and panellist on learning innovation, future skills and workforce capability.

  • Virgin Media O2: People Capability Director leading large-scale digital upskilling, leadership development and skills-based transformation capability to strengthen workforce agility to deliver business strategy.
  • Enterprise organisations: Designing award-winning learning, leadership and talent solutions across complex businesses, aligning capability development with commercial purpose and strategic outcome.
