About
Fraser commenced his training contract with the firm in September 2024 and is currently sitting in the Commercial & Technology team. He has also previously sat in our Projects, Dispute Resolution and Pensions & Lifetime Savings teams, and has completed a client secondment to EDF Energy Nuclear Generation Limited in Gloucester, supporting the Nuclear Operations legal team.
Fraser attended the University of Bristol from 2018-2021, studying an undergraduate degree in History. From 2021-2022, he then completed his Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) and secured a training contract at Burges Salmon following a Vacation Scheme at the firm. In September 2024, Fraser completed the Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE) and joined the firm in our Bristol office.
Experience
- Commercial and Technology: Advising on a range of commercial and technology matters, including SaaS agreements, software licensing arrangements, data protection provisions and broader contractual risk allocation in commercial projects and procurement processes.
- Data Protection, Cyber Security and AI: Contributing to client training and thought leadership on fast-moving regulatory developments, including data protection, cyber security and AI.
- Disputes: Assisting on high-value commercial and public sector disputes as well as supporting clients in relation to Health and Safety investigations and Public Inquiries.
- Nuclear Operations (in-house at EDF): Responding to a wide range of commercial matters and supporting on the successful transfer of Hunterston B power station to UK Government ownership.
- Projects and Procurement: Advising on major public sector procurement and infrastructure projects, including on a major national rail matter.
- Pensions: Advising on a range of pensions matters, including member benefit queries, scheme documentation, and regulatory developments including work relating to Virgin Media section 37 issues.
