H&S Notice: HSE and Local Authorities continue their Covid-19 spot checks in December

Many organisations are busier than they have been for some time, but they must all have measures in place to protect workers, visitors and customers from the risk of covid-19 transmission.

Throughout December HSE will continue to carry out spot checks and inspections by calling and visiting businesses to check they are COVID-secure.

HSE also continues to conduct spot checks and inspections on transport and logistics businesses to ensure they have COVID-secure measures in place.

The Coronavirus Regulations give HSE and Local Authorities broad powers to fine businesses and senior managers for breaches.

We are making calls so we can give expert advice on how to manage the risks and protect workers, customers and visitors. We are also working closely with local authorities, assisting them in the sectors they regulate such as hospitality and retail. If you receive a call or visit from us, you should participate in the spot check as failure to do so could lead to enforcement action.
