Burges Salmon advises Aptco Group on acquisition of BlueScientific

We have advised Aptco Group, a European technology group specialising in laboratory instrumentation and scientific solutions, on its acquisition of BlueScientific, a Cambridge‑based distributor of scientific instrumentation.

The transaction sees BlueScientific join Aptco Group as part of Aptco Group’s strategy to build a pan‑European platform serving laboratories and R&D organisations across multiple markets. The acquisition expands Aptco Group’s presence in the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands and the Nordics, while strengthening BlueScientific’s access to broader operational, technical and service capabilities.

This significant acquisition reflects the continued momentum behind specialist, founder‑led businesses, particularly those with established international reach. It also highlights how cross‑border investors are identifying growth opportunities in the UK market, where technical capability, long‑term partnerships and scalable platforms remain key differentiators.
