The deal secures the retirement benefits of over 1,700 retirees and over 3,000 deferred members.

The Scheme Trustees, Honda Motor Europe Limited as Sponsor and their advisors set up and worked under a joint working group advised, on the legal side, by Burges Salmon’s Pensions and Lifetime Savings team. Leading on the transaction were partners Richard Knight and Susannah Young.

“It has been an absolute pleasure for us to work alongside the Trustee and all the advisors on this successful buy-in. The collaborative approach adopted by everyone involved in the project ensured that every decision centred around protecting the members’ long-term security. Sue and I are proud to have contributed to this exceptional project, showing our dedication to facilitating transformational deals and solutions for the pensions industry.”
