Burges Salmon supports Interpath on Claire’s Accessories UK sale

Picture of James Green

The firm has been appointed by Interpath, the administrators of Claire’s Accessories UK Ltd, to support the sale of most of the Company’s UK business and assets to Modella Capital, the retail and consumer investment boutique.

Specialists from our Employment team advised on the transaction, led by partner James Green and associate Elizabeth Buckley.

Claire’s is one of the UK’s most recognisable retail brands, known for its range of fashionable jewellery and accessories. The Company was placed into administration on 13 August 2025 following Chapter 11 proceedings initiated by its parent company in the United States.

The sale ensures the popular brand continues to trade on high streets across the country, with 156 Claire’s stores and approximately 1,000 members of staff across the UK and Ireland transferring to Modella Capital.

We’re proud of our role in securing the future of a beloved high street brand. This positive outcome reflects the strength and agility of our team, and the collaborative approach we took with Interpath and other legal advisers to deliver a successful result under challenging circumstances.
