The firm’s LBGT+ group is important because we want our people to feel that they can be their true and authentic self at work and that they don’t have to hide their sexuality or sexual identity. We know that those who feel able to live openly and without hiding who they are can reach their full potential. That is not only important for the individuals, but also for the firm, because successful and fulfilled people are at the heart of what makes Burges Salmon a great place work.

BProud has always strived to provide representation and a voice for our LGBTQIA+ people, whether through drafting articles that tie in with important milestones (such as National Coming Out Day) or by hosting firm wide events to raise awareness of issues affecting our community.  Our LGBTQIA+ History walk around Bristol was a particular highlight!  We have also been able to make real change to working practices throughout the firm, including the adoption of gender-neutral wording within our policies and letter-drafting guidelines, and continue to work with external groups and networks to ensure that we remain as supportive and inclusive to all.
