AML and Financial Crime Lead

Are you an experienced AML and Financial Crime professional looking for a role where you can shape strategy, influence senior stakeholders and help navigate complex regulatory challenges?

We're looking for an AML & Financial Crime Lead to join our Risk & Best Practice team. This is a high-profile position at the heart of the firm, combining technical expertise, risk management, governance and innovation to help ensure we meet our regulatory obligations whilst delivering commercially focused support to the business.

What you'll be doing

As our AML & Financial Crime Lead, you will act as a trusted adviser to partners, lawyers and business services teams on a broad range of financial crime matters.

You will:-

• Provide expert guidance on AML, sanctions and wider financial crime risks
• Advise on complex client and matter due diligence issues
• Maintain and develop our AML and Financial Crime risk framework
• Lead policy development and continuous improvement initiatives
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the firm
• Deliver engaging training and awareness programmes
• Support key governance activities, audits and regulatory reviews
• Identify opportunities to enhance processes through technology, data and AI

What we're looking for

• In depth knowledge of UK AML legislation and financial crime requirements
• Strong commercial judgement and a pragmatic, risk-based approach
• Experience advising on complex due diligence and financial crime matters
• The confidence to work directly with partners and senior stakeholders
• Outstanding stakeholder management and influencing skills
• Experience leading, coaching and positively challenging experienced colleagues
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical business advice
• Experience of governance, risk assessment and control frameworks

Whilst experience within the legal sector would be advantageous, we would also welcome applications from candidates from other highly regulated industries.
