Legal Innovation Business Partner

Enjoy turning ideas into solutions ?   We are looking for a Legal Innovation Business Partner to join our Innovation Team. This is a hands-on role focused on taking ideas from concept through to working prototypes.   You will have the opportunity to explore how AI and emerging technologies can support areas such as due diligence, knowledge, client data and drafting. Working with firm-wide legal AI tools and Microsoft Copilot, you will develop and test ideas with users, helping to demonstrate their value and shape solutions that can move into live use across the firm.   What you will be doing

Working directly with lawyers and business services teams, the role will: 

• Understand how teams work, identify opportunities and design new approaches.
• Rapidly prototype AI and automation solutions using tools including Power Platform, Copilot Studio, AI coding assistants, LLM APIs and code where needed.
• Test and refine solutions with users, improving prompts, context and workflows.
• Connect prototypes with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, document management and client platforms.
• Assess new technology and vendor products, including whether to build or buy.
• Prepare successful prototypes for handover to IT and clearly demonstrate what has been built. 

What we're looking for 

• Hands-on experience building prototypes, automations or AI solutions is key. This could include experience with Power Platform, Copilot Studio, Python or JavaScript, APIs and LLM APIs. 
• An ability to understand how teams work, identify what would genuinely help and translate that into a practical solution.
• A strong sense of user experience and an instinct for creating simple, useful solutions.
• Experience using AI coding tools to prototype quickly.
• A practical understanding of large language models, including their strengths and limitations.
• Clear communication, curiosity, self-direction and comfort with ambiguity.
• Experience in legal technology, professional services, document automation, HighQ, UX, service design or user research would be advantageous but isn't essential.
