You’ll have the chance to experience real work, alongside attending skills sessions with our trainees and solicitors to broaden your understanding of the legal sphere. Throughout the programme, you’ll also get to know colleagues across the firm at our social and sports events.

As the vacation scheme forms an integral part of our recruitment process, they are only open to candidates who are eligible to start a training contract in 2027 (or earlier). This includes:
We offer vacation scheme programmes in both our Bristol and Edinburgh offices, and recruit between 70-80% of our trainees from the vacation scheme. Successful applicants will be invited back for a training contract interview after the scheme has taken place. If we decide we are right for each other, you will be offered a training contract.
From our Bristol office we run a winter vacation scheme (one week), spring vacation scheme (two weeks), and two summer vacation schemes (two weeks each) each year.
These are open to anyone who is eligible to apply for a training contract; regardless of your degree discipline or the length of time since you graduated.
We run two vacation schemes in our Edinburgh office â one in April and one in June. In 2025, the spring vacation scheme will take place between 7-18 April, with the summer scheme running from 16-27 June.
We will be recruiting trainees to be based in the Edinburgh office from September 2025, 2026, and 2027 start dates. 2025 applicants should apply for the spring vacation scheme and 2026 & 2027 applicants should apply for the summer vacation scheme.
Trainees in our Edinburgh office will become qualified in Scotland.
