Burges Salmon has advised its long-standing client Octopus Group on its funding of new zero emission Jaguar I-PACE vehicles at Heathrow Airport, enabling their rollout later this year as part of the airport’s commitment to reduce emissions.

The funding forms part of Octopus’ new ‘Transport as a Service’ solution helping UK businesses with large vehicle fleets to accelerate their transition to zero emission transportation, including commercial vehicles, buses and taxis.

The Burges Salmon team, led by banking partner Graham Soar and Ed Hobbs with support from projects partner Ross Fairley and Alison Logan, worked closely with Octopus to complete this innovative project against a commercially-critical deadline.

Graham Soar commented: “This transaction demonstrates our ability and experience both in bespoke financing arrangements and also in the fast-moving electric vehicles sector, where Burges Salmon is developing a market-leading practice. We look forward to working with Octopus on further financings in this exciting area.
