Burges Salmon is pleased to announce that Chris Seaton has been appointed as the firm’s senior partner from 1 May 2017.

Chris joined the firm in 1991 after an 11-year career in the Royal Navy, becoming a partner in 1999. He served for many years as head of the firm’s employment team. He has also chaired the firm’s international committee since 2004 and served as a member of the firm’s partnership committee since 2011. In addition to his responsibilities as senior partner, Chris will continue his client-facing role as a partner in the firm’s employment team.

Chris will succeed Alan Barr as senior partner at the end of his term. Alan has been an influential and inspirational senior partner for the past six years and will remain with the firm to continue with his client facing roles as a corporate partner and as relationship partner for a number of the firm’s clients.

Peter Morris, Burges Salmon’s managing partner says:

"I’m looking forward to working closely with Chris as managing partner and senior partner respectively and to continuing to implement our strategy. Chris brings to his new role an excellent track record as a client partner and the firm’s lead on international work and relationships."
