Independent UK law firm Burges Salmon has advised Transport Design International (TDI), an innovative transportation solutions provider, on the sale of its award-winning Revolution Very Light Rail (VLR) vehicles to Eversholt Rail Group.

Touted to be the next generation of mass transport, Revolution VLR offers a lightweight, sustainable transport solution. With battery powered propulsion, it is an affordable and greener option when compared to heavy rail vehicles and can operate on existing rail networks or new light rail infrastructure.

Burges Salmon’s Projects department advised TDI on the sale and accompanying manufacture and supply agreement, with a team led by partner and head of Rail sector Chris Simms and supported by senior associate Daniel Hogg and solicitor Isabel Robinson.

Chris Simms comments: “We’re pleased to have advised TDI on its agreement with Eversholt Rail Group, which signals a new step in the roll out of very light rail in the UK, a technology of the future, freeing up capacity on the main network and improving regional and rural connectivity through economic and sustainable transportation.”

Sam Wauchope, Chairman of Transport Design International added: “This joint investment is fantastic news for RVLR, and we are looking forward to working with Eversholt Rail to deliver this groundbreaking product that will modernise the UK rail network. Burges Salmon have provided invaluable legal advice and support throughout this process.”
