Overview

David is the Head of the Disputes, Planning & Construction Department which comprises 28 Partners and over 130 lawyers. David has been a partner for over 20 years, with over 10 years of experience as Head of Disputes.

Over a 30 year career he has helped an extensive range of clients in both the private and public sectors to deal with the disputes and strategic challenges faced by their operations. Acting both throughout the UK and internationally he has a considerable breadth of experience in handling the litigation, arbitration, inquiries and investigations which can typically be faced by a commercial organisation or public body.

He is currently leading the appointment of Burges Salmon to provide the legal services required by the UK Covid 19 Public Inquiry chaired by Baroness Heather Hallett.   

 
Experience
  • Lead Solicitor for the UK Covid 19 Public Inquiry.
  • Leading the response of numerous major organisations to allegations of fraudulent and criminal behaviour, including conducting internal investigations, leading responses to investigating authorities and regulators, liaising with whistle blowers, defending ancillary civil litigation and helping remedial action to help protect the client’s business reputation.
  • Conducting a wide range of high value commercial litigation for public and corporate clients, nationally and internationally, in diverse industries and sectors including banking, energy, corporate finance, food and drink, aviation, defence, retail and many others.
