Overview

Emily is a Director in our banking team. She has experience working on a wide range of banking and finance issues with a particular emphasis on complex corporate restructuring and insolvency matters in the private and public sectors.

Emily acts for key stakeholders including investors, companies, management teams, insolvency practitioners, regulators and pension trustees on both domestic and cross border distressed matters.

Emily is a member of R3, TMA and IWIRC and is also a member of TMA’s UK Network of Women committee. She is recognised as a 'Rising Star' by Legal 500 and was shortlisted for TMA’s 'Next Generation Professional of the Year Award' in 2019.

Experience
  • Advised Adelie Foods throughout its accelerated M&A process and subsequently advised Administrators from Deloitte on a number of asset sales.
  • Advised the Group and subsequently Administrators from FRP Advisory on a restructuring including the trading administration of aerospace composite manufacturer, Tods Aerospace, resulting in the sale of part of the business to Cobham.
  • Advised Causeway Capital Partners on its acquisition of the business and assets of Patisserie Valerie out of administration.
  • Advised Administrators from BDO on the administration of Bathstore.com including the sale of certain assets to Homebase.
  • Acted for Financial Services Compensation Scheme Limited in its capacity as representative of the 'Exiting Creditors' in the 2018 High Court and Court of Appeal cases relating to the MF Global UK CVA.
  • Advised a US investor in connection with a £60 million debt and equity restructuring of a UK manufacturer.
  • Acted for Agent Provocateur Limited in connection with its pre-pack administration sale and the subsequent wind down and restructuring of its international business located across 19 countries.
  • Advised the lender to and Administrators of two Luxembourg registered companies holding property in the UK on, among other things, the migration of the companies’ centre of main interests to England to enable the administrations to proceed and a subsequent exit through a CVA.
  • Advised a number of institutional landlords on issues relating to CVAs proposed by New Look, Mothercare, Carluccios and House of Fraser.
