About

Emily heads the firm’s Restructuring and Insolvency team. She specialises in non-contentious corporate restructuring and insolvency matters in the private and public sectors. Emily acts for key stakeholders including lenders, investors, companies, management teams, insolvency practitioners, regulators and pension trustees on both domestic and cross-border distressed situations.

She supports clients across the full spectrum of financial stress and distress including: risk management and mitigation for boards; options analysis for lenders and investors; contingency planning for counterparties; and solvent and insolvent solutions for corporates.

Emily is a member of TMA UK’s Network of Women committee. She is recognised as a Next Generation Partner in Legal 500, a Band 2 Lawyer in Chambers and Partners, and a Rising Star Partner in IFLR 1000.

Experience

  • Hodge Bank: Advising on the pre-pack acquisition of the business and certain assets of Blue Motor Finance Limited from administrators at EY-Parthenon.
  • Selsdon Park Hotel: Advising administrators and receivers from Moorfields Advisory on the sale of the historic Selsdon Park Hotel to a company owned by BH Group.
  • Biscuiteers: Advising the founders of Biscuiteers, on its change of ownership following a pre-pack acquisition from administrators at Interpath Advisory.
  • Gladsmuir Resource Recovery Limited: Advising on the acquisition of an energy-from-waste facility based in the Scottish borders from administrators at PwC.
  • Student accommodation portfolio: Advising a debt fund on its enforcement options and supporting with consensual solutions bespoke to each asset across four jurisdictions.
  • Bakers + Baristas: Advising on its successful company voluntary arrangement (CVA).
