Emily is a director in our banking team. She has experience working on a wide range of banking and finance issues with a particular emphasis on complex corporate restructuring and insolvency matters in the private and public sectors.

Emily acts for key stakeholders including secured and unsecured lenders, distressed investors, corporate borrowers, management teams, shareholders, trustees, regulators and insolvency practitioners.

Emily is a member of R3 and is also a member of R3's Education, Courses and Conferences Committee.

She is recognised as a 'Next Generation Lawyer' by Legal 500.

  • Acting for Financial Services Compensation Scheme Limited in its capacity as representative of the "Exiting Creditors" in the recent High Court and Court of Appeal cases relating to the MF Global UK Company Voluntary Arrangement.
  • Advising a US investor in connection with a £60 million debt and equity restructuring of a UK manufacturer.
  • Acting for Agent Provocateur Limited in connection with its pre-pack administration sale and the subsequent wind down and restructuring of its international business located across 19 countries.
  • Acting for HSBC Bank plc in relation to a £135 million acquisition, development and investment loan facilities agreement to a student accommodation provider.
  • Advising administrators from AlixPartners on a pre-packaged share sale within the waste management and environmental service sector and a subsequent intercompany loan reorganisation as part of a wider scheme of arrangement, c. £500 million debt restructure and refinance.
  • Advising the lender to and administrators of two Luxembourg registered companies holding property in the UK on, among other things, the migration of the companies’ centre of main interests to England to enable the administrations to proceed and a subsequent exit through a CVA.
  • Acting for a food supplier in relation to the syndication of a £42 million receivables purchase agreement.
  • Advising a number of institutional landlords on issues relating to the recent CVAs proposed by New Look, Mothercare, Carluccios and House of Fraser.
