Kari heads the firm’s financial services sector group. She is a partner in the firm's dispute resolution team with significant experience in all forms of dispute resolution including mediation, arbitration and litigation. She manages complex multi-party disputes for UK and international clients as well as assisting financial services firms with regulatory investigations, particularly by the FRC and FCA.

Kari regularly provides advice to businesses on insurance coverage as well as issues that arise in corporate and banking transactions such as warranty and indemnity insurance, credit insurance and directors and officers liability insurance. 

Her practice is focused on financial services disputes, insurance/reinsurance and professional negligence (including accountants, brokers and investment advisors).

Kari is on Burges Salmon’s International Committee and is a member of the International Bar Association and editor for the IBA Insurance Committee.

  • Acting in complex litigation and investigations arising from high profile financial and corporate collapses including Barings Bank, Chester Street and Madoff.
  • Advising on insurance and reinsurance disputes including disputes arising out of the collapse of the World Trade Center, Enron and WorldCom.
  • Advising RAC on its insurance distribution agreements including with BGL.
