Michael is a partner in Burges Salmon’s dispute resolution team, known for his creative approach to delivering positive client outcomes. He acts in both High Court and arbitration proceedings and has particular expertise in making and defending applications for injunctions in both of these settings.

Michael advises national and international clients on commercially significant matters in two main areas: investor disputes and corporate disputes.

He advises shareholders, directors, LLPs, partners and joint venturers on investor disputes including:

  • Breach of joint venture and shareholders’ agreements
  • Unfair Prejudice Petitions
  • Breach of fiduciary duties
  • Breach of director duties, and
  • Derivative claims.

He also advises corporates and investment funds on disputes arising out of:

  • SPAs
  • Investment/co-investment agreements
  • Investment management agreements
  • Long term supply agreements, and
  • Distribution agreements.

  • Advising an ultra HNW Russian in unfair prejudice proceedings relating to one of his investment companies.
