Nick is a senior associate within our banking team and has extensive experience across a number of sectors, including Energy and Real Estate, and at a range of debt levels. Nick has a particular specialism in distressed lending, restructuring and insolvency.

Nick has worked with corporate borrowers, high-street banks and investment funds across the full life-cycle of a lender's relationship with its customers - from origination and coverage through to refinance or recovery. He also regularly acts for insolvency practitioners in connection with their appointments, and has advised on a number of business and/or asset disposals arising as part of those appointments.



  • Advising the lenders of a £22m project finance facility which funded the development and operation of a biomass plant in the Midlands on the restructuring of that facility and the provision of detailed associated contingency and enforcement planning advice.
  • Acting for a syndicate of German lenders on a £135m revolving credit facility agreement made available to Singapore obligors.
  • Advising the trustees to a pension scheme of a distressed national retailer on a proposed acquisition of that retailer, the trustees’ rights in relation to that acquisition and the impact of any potential insolvency arising as part of, or as a result of, that acquisition.
  • Acting for a UK investment fund on its secured £20m LMA syndicated term loan facility to a UK Real Estate investment platform.
  • Acting for the administrators of a national construction firm on the full range of matters arising out of its insolvency, including negotiations with its former customers and suppliers, and novating certain of its contracts.
  • Acting for Santander on its secured bilateral acquisition finance facilities agreement which funded the Private Equity-backed acquisition of the international media software group, Miles 33.
