Head of our cross-departmental real estate team, having led the firm's real estate department for five years between 2009 and 2014. Richard advises investors, developers and occupiers with a particular focus on the office and retail sectors.

Richard heads the real estate teams for Waitrose, John Lewis Partnership and Waterstones across their respective UK real estate portfolios.

With an emphasis on the central London and West End office market, Richard acts for landlords and tenants on occupational requirements and major development projects.

In the retail sector, Richard has recently handled over £500 million of investment transactions including out-of-town parks in Liverpool, Nottingham, Swansea and Newcastle and shopping centres in Oxford and Fareham.

Richard sits on the firm's Learning and Development and Brand Advancement Committees and is an active member of the IPF.

  • Advising on the sale and leaseback to US REIT WP Carey of RWE nPower's HQ offices in Sunderland.
  • Advising off shore investor/developer regarding major office to residential permitted development scheme (30 units), Kensington Gardens Square, London.
  • Advising RWE Generation UK plc on the sale of Fawley Power Station, Southampton.
  • Providing a full range of asset management services to The Crown Estate St James's portfolio.
