Overview

Richard heads the firm's Pensions practice.

Richard graduated from Bristol University with a first class degree in law and completed the Legal Practice Course in Nottingham with Distinction. He joined Burges Salmon in September 1997 and became a partner in May 2006.

He is a full member of the Association of Pension Lawyers and holds the Certificate in Pensions Law from the University of Bristol. He regularly speaks at client seminars and delivers bespoke training sessions on pensions and incentives matters.

Richard is an adviser with The Pensions Advisory Services (TPAS).

Experience
  • Advising Western Power Distribution on all of its pension arrangements including the WPD Group and the Central Networks Group of the Electricity Supply Pension Scheme (assets in excess of £4 billion).
  • Advising the Trustee of the Selex Pension Scheme on a switch to career salary accrual.
  • Advising the Trustees of the AT&T Pension Scheme.
  • Advising the Trustees of the Honda Group - UK Pension Scheme.
