Ailsa is a senior associate in the real estate team. She specialises in real estate development, investment and management.

Ailsa acts for investors, developers and occupiers on all aspects of their UK property legal requirements with a particular focus on the office, retail and student sectors.

Ailsa also acts exclusively for landowners including The Crown Estate and family trusts on the disposal of strategic land by way of option agreements, promotion agreements or conditional contracts.

Experience
  • Advising The Crown Estate on the management of its £2.2 billion St James's portfolio including the grant of a lease to Aquascutum of its flagship menswear store on Jermyn Street, the sale of 1 Carlton House Terrace and the head lease regear of Canada House and adjoining offices at 2-4 Cockspur Street.
  • Acting for The Crown Estate on a range of transactions on its Rural, Windsor and Strategic portfolios.
  • Advising RWE Npower on the £32.5 million sale and leaseback of its Northern HQ at Rainton House, Sunderland and for RWE Generation on the £25 million disposal of Fawley Power Station, Southampton and the £20 million sale of land at Willington Power Station in Derbyshire.
  • Advising on the purchase of a long leasehold interest in both The Rolex Store and the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank at One Hyde Park.
  • Advising developer TVE Group on the acquisition, development and disposal of student developments at Northgate House and Glendower House in Cardiff.
  • Acting for two family trusts in connection with the grant of a hybrid agreement over land to the north west of Cardiff, now allocated in the local plan for the development of 7000 homes and the first disposals of such land pursuant to the hybrid agreement.
