About

Alanna is a solicitor in the Construction and Engineering team. She provides advice across a variety of contentious and non-contentious matters across all areas of construction, engineering and infrastructure projects. She qualified as a solicitor in August 2024 after completing her training at a large international law firm. Prior to commencing her traineeship, she worked as a paralegal for three years in the corporate transaction team at the same international firm.

Alanna has experience providing advice across a variety of contentious and non-contentious matters. She represents a variety of clients, including funders, developers, consultants, and governmental bodies, often advising on complex or innovative legal issues. She also has experience advising on a variety of standard form contracts, bespoke amendments, and consultant appointments, and has worked on a number of large, complex renewable energy projects, including battery storage, onshore wind and nuclear.

On contentious matters, she has advised clients on potential claims and adjudications, and addressing issues related to delay, extension of time, and variations.

  • Large renewable energy company: Advising onshore wind company in relation to the development of onshore wind site, including advising on LSA and LTSA agreements.
  • Funder: Advising a funder in relation to consultant appointment agreement in connection with two large simultaneous hotel refurbishment projects in England.
  • Governmental organisation: Advising client in relation to a contractor dispute connected with a decarbonisation project.
  • Major utilities company: Advising a major energy company in relation to the PFI handback of their processing plant in Glasgow.
  • Funder: Advising funder on consultant appointment agreements in connection with a large housing development in Scotland.
