About

Alex read LLB Law with Australian Law at the University of Nottingham from 2018-2022. During her studies, Alex sat on the Women in Law Society Committee as Social Secretary and played Women’s Softball & Baseball. She also volunteered at Citizens Advice Bureau at this time, providing legal advice and support in her local community.

Before starting at Burges Salmon, Alex travelled to Southeast Asia to take part in volunteering projects in wildlife conservation and education in Thailand and Vietnam. She also recently solo-travelled around Australia and New Zealand.

From 2023-2024, Alex sat the Solicitor’s Qualifying Exams (SQE), joining the firm as a trainee solicitor in September 2024 in the Dispute Resolution department. She is currently sitting in Pensions, Private Wealth and Agricultural Disputes. Since joining the firm, Alex has got involved in a number of charity initiatives and BSocial sport groups.

Experience

  • Matter management: Assisting in managing matters on a range of Pensions, Private Wealth and Agricultural Land disputes at various stages of the litigation process.
  • Bespoke advice: Providing bespoke advice and guidance on the full range of dispute resolution methods available such as mediation, arbitration or other tribunals.
  • Drafting: Timely drafting of court documents and applications in accordance with court directions and the Civil Procedure Rules.
  • Reviewing documentation: Reviewing and analysing complex documentation relating to trust structures, pension schemes, historic licences and Agricultural Holdings Act tenancies.
