About

Amy is a Solicitor in the firm’s Employment department, based in Edinburgh. She advises on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters, including day-to-day HR issues, complex grievance and disciplinary procedures, restrictive covenants, long-term sickness absence, performance management, senior employee exits and redundancy processes.

Amy has experience advising on Employment Tribunal claims relating to unfair and wrongful dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing, victimisation, equal pay, and unlawful deductions from wages.

Amy is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.

Experience

  • Employment law advisory: Advising clients on the full range of employment law matters, including disciplinary and grievance processes, dismissals, negotiated exits and settlement agreements.
  • Wide range of businesses: Drafting employment contracts, service agreements, HR policies and employee handbooks for businesses across a variety of sectors.
  • Corporate transactions: Advising clients across a variety of sectors on the employment law aspects of corporate transactions.
  • Data subject access requests: Assisting employers with handling and responding to complex data subject access requests by current and former employees.
  • Workplace investigations: Supporting employers with workplace investigations, including both independent external investigations and advice on internal investigation processes.
  • Secondment to a Bank: Completed a secondment with a major UK bank, assisting with a collective redundancy exercise.
