Bethany is an associate in the firm’s Dispute Resolution team, specialising in intellectual property. Bethany brings with her valuable experience, having previously worked as a Hearing Officer at the UK Intellectual Property Office and trained as a Trainee Trade Mark Attorney.

Bethany’s experience spans all soft intellectual property rights throughout their lifecycle. This includes managing international brand portfolios of market-leading clients and advising on a range of matters such as clearance searches, trade mark and design filings, oppositions, invalidity actions, third party enforcement, infringement and alternative dispute resolution.

Bethany is a member of CITMA and was named as a Lexology IP Legal Influencer in 2024.

Experience

  • Bethany’s experience as a Hearing Officer comprised adjudicating on trade marks and passing off and advising IP professionals and litigants in person on complex trade mark issues.
  • Bethany also has considerable experience in pre-action correspondence and exploring alternative dispute resolutions. In a recent matter she obtained a 7 figure settlement for a client whose IP was infringed.
  • Having been seconded to a client and worked with a range of clients, Bethany appreciates the importance of ensuring clients feel heard and that their legal queries are resolved in a commercial manner.
