About

Charlotte attended the University of Edinburgh from 2017-2021, obtaining a double first-class MA (Hons) degree in English Literature and History of Art. As part of this degree, she completed an Erasmus year abroad to Lunds Universitet in Sweden.

From 2021-2022, Charlotte worked in the Real Estate Finance team of a national law firm, specialising in high-volume transactions involving Islamic Finance.

After completing a Vacation Scheme in the firm’s Tax, Trusts, and Family team, she secured a training contract with the firm, before going on to study the PgDL and LLM (SQE 1&2) at the University of Law.

Charlotte commenced her training contract with the firm in September 2024, and has sat in our Banking and Finance, Pensions and Lifetime Savings, Planning and Compulsory Purchase, and Real Estate teams. She has also completed a client secondment to EDF Energy Nuclear Generation in Gloucester.

Charlotte is involved with various internal initiatives and, externally, is a committee member of the ‘Bristol Junior Lawyer Division’.

Away from work, Charlotte is a portrait artist and has completed traditional oil-on-canvas commissions internationally.

Experience

  • Banking and Finance: Assisting with transaction management across real estate finance and corporate lending transactions (often with multi-jurisdictional aspects).
  • Insolvency: Assisting with research and drafting on matters involving corporate insolvency and restructuring.
  • Pensions and Lifetime Savings: Drafting admission agreements for members of the Local Government Pension Scheme.
  • Planning: Drafting correction orders to Development Consent Orders pursuant to the Planning Act 2008, and carrying out niche planning-related research.
  • Compulsory Purchase: Assisting with a contentious compulsory purchase matter in relation to a major UK rail infrastructure project.  
  • Energy and Nuclear: During the course of a client secondment to EDF Energy Nuclear Generation in Gloucester, completing various research, drafting, and commercial tasks in relation to the nuclear sector.
