About

Chris is a senior associate in the Dispute Resolution team. He specialises in corporate and commercial disputes and also has built considerable experience working on complex and disputed insurance coverage claims.

He has a particular interest and experience acting for clients on disputes in the energy and utilities and financial services sectors.

Chris has acted on successful proceedings in the High Court and has experience of ADR, including resolution of matters through mediation. He is also familiar with arbitration proceedings, having advised clients in both LCIA and ICC arbitrations.

He has also gained valuable in-house legal experience from a secondment in Lloyds Banking Group’s commercial banking litigation team.

Experience

Havant Biogas Limited and Ors v GEMA: Acting for four SPVs in a successful judicial review of an subsidy decision and subsequent high value proceedings for just satisfaction.
FSCS: Acting for FSCS as intervenor in a Court of Appeal case concerning the function of the Third Parties (Rights Against Insurers) Act 2010.
FSCS: Acting for FSCS on a multi-million pound portfolio of claims against defaulted SIPP operators and their PI Insurers.
Major construction company: Acting on a substantial PI insurance claim for mitigation costs incurred in connection with a major energy project.
Guatemalan energy company: Acting in a claim for coverage under a machinery breakdown and business interruption policy.
