About
Elaine is a Professional Support Lawyer within the Scottish Real Estate Team.
Prior to this she worked as a transactional lawyer acting principally for several landed Scottish Estates and advising them on, amongst other matters, agricultural tenancies. She gained experience in the sale, purchase and voluntary registration of rural property and estates. She also worked with many family businesses and trusts to restructure and inheritance plan for them.
Elaine lectured in Law at a Scottish Further Education College and for several years was a Tutor on the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Strathclyde.
Elaine works closely with the Scottish Real Estate Team to provide them with training and a consultancy service.
Experience
- Acting principally for a progressive Scottish Estate extending to 28,000 acres. Advising them on Voluntary Registration and ongoing advice on a myriad of matters including an extensive number of new and existing agricultural tenancies.
- Acting for forestry investor in refinancing of their significant portfolio
- Advising family businesses on business structuring and inheritance planning
- Tutor on the Professional Diploma in Legal Practice Course at the University if Strathclyde
- Member of the Scottish Property PSL Group
