Overview

Emma is a senior associate in the firm’s real estate team. After training and practising at the firm for a number of years, she re-joined the firm in 2022 following a period in academia.

Emma has a wide range of experience in real estate investment and management matters but now specialises in development transactions, acting for landowners on the disposal of strategic land by way of option agreements, promotion agreements and conditional contracts and advising on overage arrangements.

Emma retains an involvement in academia and is a visiting fellow at the University of Plymouth.

Experience
  • Advising a landed estate on the disposal of circa 150 acres of prime employment land by option agreement (with associated overage arrangements).
  • Advising a consortium of landowners in relation to the promotion of their land for residential development, including advising on various collaboration agreements and other agreements in relation to third party land.
  • Acting for private landowners to put in place equalisation arrangements in respect of the residential development of their land.
  • Acting for a large PLC client on the sale of surplus land to a house builder for the construction of three new residential estates.
  • Acting for a range of landlords and tenants on lease negotiations, including acting for Burges Salmon LLP on the acquisition of London premises and on the sub-letting of part of its Bristol premises.
