About

Gabi joined Burges Salmon as a trainee in 2019 and is an associate in the Environment team.

Gabi has experience advising public and private sector clients on a broad range of environmental law and regulation, including ESG, corporate sustainability reporting and due diligence, natural capital, product stewardship, carbon law, permitting, waste and water law.

She has a particular specialism bringing forward net zero and natural capital projects and regenerative agriculture schemes, helping clients to navigate the regulatory and contractual frameworks governing project delivery.

Gabi has served as a co-convenor of the South West Regional Committee of the UK Environmental Law Association. She sits on Burges Salmon’s ESG steering group.

Experience

  • Various Wildlife Trusts: Advising in relation to various landscape recovery projects, including the contractual frameworks for implementation of the projects and the structuring of natural capital schemes.
  • Landowners, developers, brokers: Advising on the design, drafting and negotiation of contractual arrangements for voluntary carbon and nature market projects.
  • Various corporate clients: Advising in relation to a range of environmental permitting issues, including offences and enforcement, appeals against regulatory decisions, and decarbonisation readiness requirements.
  • Multinational clients: Advising on sustainability reporting and due diligence obligations under UK law and regulation.
  • Bristol City Council: Advising in relation to the ground-breaking ‘City Leap’ project to find a strategic partner to help deliver carbon neutrality in Bristol by 2030.
