About

Hayden is a solicitor in the firm’s Pensions and Lifetime Savings team. He has a wide range of experience advising pension scheme trustees, companies, and other organisations on a wide variety of pensions issues, including cyber, public sector pensions, and DC.

He has experience in a variety of fields, including contentious matters and different types of incentives work (including in the context of corporate transactions).

Hayden attended the University of Oxford, graduating with an undergraduate degree in History in 2021. From 2021-2023, he completed his Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) and then Legal Practice Course (LPC), graduating in the latter with a distinction in his MSc in Law, Business, and Management.

He joined the firm in August 2023, qualifying as a solicitor in the Pensions and Lifetime Savings team in September 2025.

Experience

  • Buy-in and buy-out: Advising trustees on benefit specifications and contract terms for schemes of all sizes and with a variety of insurers.
  • Cybersecurity and regulatory: Including delivering training to professional trustees on the latest developments and threats facing pension schemes in the context of the latest regulatory landscape.
  • Complex arrangements: Experience of a wide variety of pension scheme features, including GMP underpins in DC schemes/sections.
  • Incentive plans: Drafting executive long-term bonus incentive plan rules and associated guidance, as well as assisting in preparations for town hall discussions with executive bonus recipients.
  • Pragmatic solutions: Assisting clients and working with other advisers to efficiently deliver clients’ needs, including advice on GMP conversion, creating new scheme sections, and providing appropriate advice for schemes with issues around historical documentation.
  • International tax: Providing advice on complex cross-border corporate organisational issues for non-UK clients.
