Janice Napier is a dual qualified lawyer in the Real Estate team in Edinburgh. She has specialised in commercial property both north and south of the border for 25 years but also has nearly 15 years of experience in renewable matters.
Janice’s experience in clean energy has largely focused on wind, solar and battery developments, primarily for developers, but she also has experience acting for landowners in relation to such matters.
Her commercial property experience covers all aspects of commercial property work from commercial leasing, sale and purchase, development site acquisition/sales through to property finance and portfolio management. Additionally, she has provided property support to her corporate colleagues in relation to both commercial property and renewables transactions.
Experience
- Onshore Wind: advising various developers in relation to numerous Scottish and English developments including negotiating options and leases, easements and financial involvement agreements, as well as stepping through into lease.
- Solar and Battery: negotiating options and leases throughout various parts of England and liaising with corporate colleagues in relation to the onward sale of same.
- Offshore Wind: acting for various landowners in relation to a large number of on-shore cable easements between a wind farm located off the east coast of Scotland and the end sub-station.
