About
Joseph is a trainee solicitor at the firm, due to qualify in September 2026. During his first year of training he completed seats in Banking & Finance, Corporate Tax, and Corporate Finance (M&A), gaining exposure to a broad range of transactional matters including real estate finance, project finance, buy-and sell-side M&A, Private Equity, and Venture Capital.
He is an active member of the firm’s charities committee, helping to organise internal fundraising events in support of the firm’s charitable theme. Before joining the firm, Joseph volunteered in Luzira Maximum Security Prison in Kampala with legal charity Justice Defenders (formerly African Prison Project), working to improve prison conditions and access to justice in Uganda.
Joseph read law at the University of Oxford, where he was awarded a full blue for sporting achievement. Outside of work, Joseph is a keen endurance athlete and regularly competes in long-distance events.
Experience
- Supported the Burges Salmon team advising on the £152m financing for Atlantic Green’s 624 MWh Cellarhead Battery Energy Storage project.
- Assisted on the sale of a portfolio of reserve power facilities to a private equity firm for over £100m.
- Contributed to the firm’s PISCES and Defence M&A working groups, supporting sector-focused initiatives and knowledge sharing.
