Justine is a senior associate in the Dispute Resolution team having joined the firm in 2013 following a career in banking. She advises clients on public inquiries as well as complex commercial disputes, partnership disputes and high-profile contentious trust and probate disputes.
She acts for a broad range of individual, corporate and government clients across different industry sectors, and has particular experience in providing advice to those conducting high profile public inquiries.
As part of her public inquiry experience, Justine plays a central role as part of the Solicitor to the Inquiry team on the UK Covid-19 Inquiry chaired by The Rt Hon Baroness Heather Hallett.
Justine has trial experience, including High Court litigation, Arbitration and Court of Appeal proceedings and has advised on a number of cases requiring urgent injunctive relief to protect the client’s commercial interests. She is also experienced in alternative forms of dispute resolution, including mediation.
She is supported by our extensive dispute resolution practice which includes civil litigators with a regulatory specialism, as well as experienced criminal practitioners, making the team a “one-stop shop” for clients’ civil and criminal dispute and investigations.
Experience
- Inquiries: Senior member of the Solicitor to the Inquiry team on multiple modules of the UK Covid-19 Inquiry.
- National Crime Agency: Representing the National Crime Agency in defence of a £250 million compensation claim, being the first major section 283 POCA claim to be brought before the courts.
- Non-departmental government body: Assisting on the defence of a multi-million pound procurement challenge for a non-departmental government body.
- Agricultural tenant: Assisting on urgent injunction proceedings against an agricultural tenant in connection with a high profile property transaction in excess of £100 million.
- Private client: Acting for a private client in expedited proceedings following an injunction.
- Private clients: Acting for private clients on high value farming partnership disputes, including advising on complex issues relating to land ownership.
