Kat is a Senior Associate in the firm’s Commercial and Technology team, specialising in commercial contracts, data protection and technology.
Kat brings over 5 years of in-house experience, having worked for both multinational retailers and hypergrowth cybersecurity companies before joining private practice. She now blends her in-house and private practice experience to provide pragmatic, clear, commercially focused advice to both legal and non-legal stakeholders to a broad range of clients in the leisure and retail, technology, food and drinks, and transport sectors.
Experience
- John Lewis PLC/Waitrose: acting for the retailer on a range of commercial contracts, including the renewal of a key third party logistics agreement.
- Advised an international hotel property company on a number of commercial matters, including heads of terms for a prospective franchise licencing agreement.
- Advised a national pub company on a range of commercial contracts and data processing activities, includuing conducting a data protection impact assessment on its use of a novel AI solution in its venues and estates.
- Part-time secondment to a national gym franchise, advising on a broad variety of commercial contracts, including advising on the implementation of a preferred supplier framework agreement and associated call-off agreements.
- Provided legal counsel for an international hypergrowth cybersecurity company, advising senior leadership on legal issues with strategic geographies, negotiating key customers contracts, and training the sales teams on legal contractual issues.
- Japan Tobacco International: trained and qualified at the multinational retailer, supporting the procurement department and advising on the company’s GDPR implementation program.
