Katy trained at Burges Salmon and qualified into the Pensions and Lifetime Savings team in September 2024.
She has experience supporting clients on various large projects including bulk transfers, liability management, buy-ins/outs, and wind-up, as well as assisting clients with ‘business as usual’ matters such as scheme governance, legal interpretation, and member/documentation queries.
Outside of her role in the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Team, Katy is an active member of the firm’s charity committee.
Experience
- Bulk annuity contract: Acting for trustees during the purchase of a major bulk annuity contract in the context of a pensioner buy-in contract.
- Buy-in and buy-out of schemes: Advises in relation to the buy-in and buy-out of schemes and their winding up.
- Regulatory compliance: Advises schemes on regulatory compliance during the day-to-day running of a pension scheme.
