About
Laura is a tenacious senior associate in the firm’s Dispute Resolution team, having joined the firm in 2020. Her experience working as an in-house lawyer prior to joining the firm means that she has unique insight to help clients arrive at the right solution to their issue, minimising impact and maximising success. Laura acts for corporate and government clients, as well as high net worth individuals and entrepreneurs, across a range of sectors.
She spends most of her time litigating complex disputes in the High Court, often with a multi-jurisdictional dimension. Her varied practice routinely encompasses claims for breach of contract; civil fraud; applications for injunctive relief; unfair prejudice petitions and shareholder and partnership disputes.
Experience
- Claimant: Successfully obtaining a form of injunctive relief and in doing so setting legal history by relying on previously untested law in England & Wales.
- Defendants: Advising in a complex and high value unfair prejudice dispute and associated fraud proceedings.
- Claimant: Successfully defending a challenge to a freezing order in respect of a large portfolio of assets.
- Claimants: Acting for the claimants in a breach of contract claim and its subsequent challenge in the Court of Appeal, where the successful damages award was upheld.
