About
Lui attended the University of Aberdeen from 2019 – 2023, studying an undergraduate degree in Scots Law with Options in Economics. During this time, through the Aberdeen Commercial Law Society, he was able to take part in a mentorship scheme with a trainee solicitor at a prominent Scottish law firm. This enabled him to better understand the inner workings of a leading commercial law firm and gaining valuable insight into the life of a trainee solicitor.
From 2023-2024, Lui completed his diploma in professional legal practice (DPLP), graduating from the University of Edinburgh. In September 2024, he joined the firm, as one of three trainees in the second intake to be based in our Edinburgh office. Since joining the firm, Lui has been an active member in the Edinburgh social events, taking part in the first ever Edinburgh based five-a-side football team.
He is currently in his first seat; a joint seat between Pensions & Lifetime Savings, and the Incentives team.
Experience
- Drafting: Drafting several published articles that have been published on the firm website. Covering topics such as TPR’s second year review on TCFD reporting, and the PPF Levy Consultation.
- Onshore nominee agreement: Negotiating and drafting an Onshore Nominee Agreement.
- Employee share option plans: Drafting suite of employee share option plans including CSOP Plan, Unapproved Options Plan and Consultant Options Plans as well as preparing materials for townhall discussions with option holders.
- UK pension schemes: Drafting TCFD Report for a large UK Pension Schemes.
