About

Marisa is an associate in the firm’s Dispute Resolution team.

She advises on a broad range of health and safety matters and supports clients with crisis management, also on incident response, regulatory investigations, internal investigations, enforcement action (from warnings through to notices and prosecutions) and coronial proceedings.

Marisa has particular experience in dealing with sensitive and high-profile incidents.

Alongside her health and safety practice, she has also handled a range of complex commercial disputes with a specialism in the transport sector.

Experience

  • Multi-fatality incident: Advising on a multi-fatality incident in the transport sector, including acting on the 10 week ‘super inquest’ and prosecution.
  • Transport operator: Advising a transport operator in their role as interested person at a high-profile inquest.
  • Energy sector client: Providing incident response to an energy sector client following a multi-fatality incident.
  • Waste sector client: Advising a waste sector client in their role as an interested person at inquest following a work-related death.
  • Transport sector clients: Acting for various transport sector clients in relation to prosecutions by the Office of Rail and Road for alleged breaches of health and safety law.
  • Appeal of an Improvement Notice: Advising a client in relation to the appeal of an Improvement Notice.
