About

Megan joined Burges Salmon as a solicitor in the Pensions team based in Edinburgh in October 2025 after completing her training contract at a transatlantic law firm. She studied Scots Law and completed her Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Aberdeen in 2019 and completed her English Solicitors Qualification Exams in July 2025.

She is a member of the Association of Pensions Lawyers.

Experience

  • Advice on buy-in and buy-out: Advising trustees on elements of the buy-in and buy-out of schemes, including assisting with the preparation of benefit specifications and trustee Section 27 Notices, and undertaking due diligence.
  • Day-to-day advice: Advising on a range of Pensions issues including scheme governance, regulatory obligations and compliance, and the interpretation of existing and current scheme documentation.
  • Public sector work: Assisting with LGPS asset pooling for public sector clients, including providing advice on governance arrangements.
