Melissa is a Senior Associate in the firm’s Projects team having joined the firm in 2013. She represents public and private sector clients across a broad range of complex, high-profile and high-value transactions.
Her main focus is on regulated single-source procurement of assets, services and infrastructure in the defence sector, primarily within the maritime domain and the UK submarine enterprise. She also advises on general and commercial matters across a broad range of other sectors, including our public procurement, nuclear and international trade practice areas.
Melissa has particular expertise in UK Government contracting, including stakeholder management and policy requirements, and a wealth of experience advising in respect of sub-contracting in all levels of the supply chain.
Experience
- UK Ministry of Defence: Nuclear Submarine Programmes, including design, build, in-service and disposal phases and infrastructure and capability development.
- UK Ministry of Defence: Infrastructure development at BAE Systems’ site at Barrow-in-Furness.
- UK Ministry of Defence: Infrastructure development at Babcock’s site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
- UK and multinational contractors: Application of the Defence Reform Act and Single Source Contract Regulations to major UK and international programmes.
