Overview

Natalie joined Burges Salmon in 2022 and specialises in public procurement law and commercial projects. 

She has developed a broad range of experience in the public sector, advising on a range of commercial matters including:

  • Major projects
  • Defence matters
  • General contractual work
Experience
  • Advised the Ministry of Defence as the sole legal adviser on a large number of major projects including most recently the Maritime Electronics Warfare programme. Provided procurement and contractual advice on 4 projects in this programme. The first contract to be awarded was a £100 million contract with Babcock in partnership with Elbit Systems UK and QinetiQ to deliver electronic warfare systems to the Royal Navy. 
  • Advised the Cabinet Office and the Department for Health and Social Care during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Provided procurement and contractual advice to both Government departments in relation to the procurement of PPE. 
  • Advised the Ministry of Justice on a large number of PFI exits and re-competitions. Also advised on a highly sensitive PFI dispute including advice on contractual termination.
