Nicola trained with Burges Salmon and qualified into the firm’s Real Estate team in September 2017, having also gained experience in environmental, planning and property disputes matters as part of her training contract.

Nicola has experience of a range of commercial real estate transactions and has worked for clients in the energy, finance, hotels, transport and public sectors.

Experience
  • Dealing with the real estate aspects of a long-term project for Reading Borough Council involving the restructuring of failing children’s social care services and the transfer of such services into a new, independent children’s service company.
  • Conducting land due diligence linked to Transport for Wales’ assumption of responsibility for the Wales and Borders rail services.
  • Assisting with a strategic land matter for a family of landowners in Taunton.
  • Regularly acting for The Crown Estate in relation to a range of matters.
  • Working on real estate finance matters for HSBC UK and Lloyds.
  • Acting for a number of renewable energy clients in relation to both battery storage and solar sites.
  • Regularly assisting a sovereign wealth fund with the asset management of a portfolio of hotels.
