Overview

Tim trained with Burges Salmon and is a director in the firm's corporate finance team. His practice covers all areas of corporate finance, specialising in mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions across the training, recruitment, leisure and technology sectors, among others. Tim has been advising institutions, founders and management teams on complex exit processes and acquisitions/investments for more than fifteen years and therefore understands the priorities and concerns from both sides of a transaction.

Clients note he is ‘Commercial, engaging and very strong technically as well. He has a good, positive demeanour towards solving problems.

  • Advising management on the £110m buyout of Trustmarque Solutions from Capita plc by One Equity Partners.
  • Advising the founder shareholders of Eton Bridge Partners, a leading executive search, interim management and consulting firm, on the sale to Elysian Capital.
  • Advised the shareholders of Omlet, the fast growing design-led pet accessories brand, on the investment by Piper Private Equity.
  • Advised BGF on a series of investments including Exeter based house-builder Burrington Estates, wine brand developer and distributor Off-Piste Wines and engineering consultancy Hydrock.
  • Advising the sellingshareholders of Bristol based Pukka Herbs, the maker of organic herbal teas and supplements, on the sale of the business to Unilever.
  • Advising ECI Partners and managementon their sale of rhubarb, a luxury catering group with contracts including the Goodwood Estate, the Royal Albert Hall and the Sky Garden in the City’s Walkie Talkie tower.
  • Advising management on the £160m Warburg Pincus backed buy-out of Supplier Assessment Services from Capita plc.
  • Advised Play Sports Group on various matters including the initial investment by Discovery Communications and the subsequent sale of a majority stake to Discovery.
  • Advising specialist fund manager Bridges Ventureson the sale of vocational training provider Babington Group to RJD Partners and its investment in leading children's residential care provider New Reflexions.
  • Advising the outgoing founders, Sovereign Capital and managers of the businesson the sale of Lifetime Training, one of the UK's leading training providers.
