On 15 October 2021, the Packaged Retail and Insurance-based Investment Products (UCITS Exemption) (Amendment) Regulations 2021 (the Regulations) were published.
Under the Regulations, the current exemption which requires UCITS fund providers to provide a key investor information document (KIID) rather than a key information document (KID) has been extended to 31 December 2026. This is applicable to management and investment companies and persons advising on or selling UCITS funds.
This follows HM Treasury’s announcement in June 2021 that the extension would be granted.
