Billing Assistant

We are looking for two Billing Assistants to join our hard working Finance team in Bristol — one on a permanent basis and the other on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

As part of our central billing function, you will play a key role in delivering a seamless and accurate billing experience for our clients. Acting as a vital link between the Finance department and legal teams, you will help ensure that billing is completed ‘right first time', meeting both internal and external deadlines while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

What you'll be doing

  • Reviewing, editing, and processing bills and credit notes in line with firm policies and client requirements.
  • Managing a portfolio of centrally billed and eBilling clients, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Maintaining billing and charge rate data within the Aderant practice management system.
  • Responding to billing queries and supporting legal teams with complex billing needs.
  • Ensuring compliance with HMRC VAT legislation, SRA Accounts Rules, and AML requirements
  • Supporting process improvements and contributing to the testing and implementation of new systems.
