About
Caitlin is a solicitor in our Employment team based in Edinburgh. She joined the firm in 2026 after completing her traineeship at MFMac where she gained experience across employment, corporate, real estate and commercial law.
Caitlin advises clients on a broad range of employment law matters and is valued for her collaborative approach, attention to detail and ability to deliver clear, practical advice. She is passionate about helping clients navigate workplace challenges and building trusted working relationships.
Caitlin has contributed to employment law thought leadership through articles and podcast content. She is also the Edinburgh Representative of BSustainable, the firm’s sustainability committee, which supports initiatives to reduce Burges Salmon’s environmental impact.
Experience
- Thought leadership: Contributing to content on employment law.
- Employment law advisory: Advising clients on the full range of employment law matters including dismissals and settlement agreements.
- Data subject access requests: Assisting employers with handling and responding to complex data subject access requests by current and former employees.
- Employment Tribunal litigation: Acting for a national retailer in defending a range of complex Employment Tribunal claims, including unfair and wrongful dismissal and discrimination.
